Our Story Vocational Support Systems, Inc (VSSI) was originally founded in 2007 by Louis and Gail Paulson to provide employment services to adults with psychiatric disabilities living in Montgomery County, Maryland. VSSI provides support to persons served by assisting them to find competitive employment in the community and maintain their jobs through job coaching and long-term extended support. For the past 12 years VSSI has grown in small and steady increments, allowing its Employment Specialists to work with smaller caseloads in order to provide individually catered services to each client served. VSSI is unique among other providers in Montgomery County in that only supported employment services are provided, whereas other providers offer supported employment within an array of services, such as psychiatric rehabilitation, residential rehabilitation, and outpatient mental health clinical services. Mission and Values VSSI’s mission is to "develop people for life-long success." Staff seek to develop strong relationships with those they serve and provide high quality employment services that meet the needs of their clients. VSSI strives to exceed expectations and believes that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
